Being a "Godfather"

1st port of call was Messina on the island of Sicily.  We rented a car and drove to the end of the rode as high up the side of the volcano Mt. Etna that we could.  Mt. Etna is European largest active volcano.  The sides of the roads are covered with hardened ash, burnt trees and lava flow trails.  Included in this set of pictures are of random shots of different towns as we looked over them while heading up and down the mountain.
The town of Messina is where " The Godfather" trilogy was filmed!  No Wolfpackers, I'm not talking about our "Gottfather".

Views of the countryside while heading downhill to Taormina.  It's hard to see but the have wind farms on the tops of some of their mountains...who knew such an old world place was so advanced.

Taormina is located on the side of a mountain, overlooking the sea.  We went down to the sea for drinks and up to the top for gelato!

Back in Messina
Daddy worried the rental car guy won't be back in time for us to get back to the ship...we still had over an hour to get back and it was 6 blocks walking!
