Because of the strike, I could not use the water taxis so I walked ALL over Venice and went to several churches! Venice has a "chorus" which is a collection of 15 churches that provides a journey through 1000 years of faith, art, and history. Many of the churches are much more like museums...you can see masterpieces by great artist that were practicing in Venice during their lives. Many of the works of art were conceived and created in the place it stands today. Also the churches serve as a refuge from all the people and the heat!
